Morgan Smith and Cassidy Brinkley recognized at GCHA Stars of the Industry Awards
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (July 14, 2025) — In recognition of excellence across the region’s hospitality sector, the Greater Chattanooga Hospitality Association (GCHA) honored two standout members of the Chattanooga Tourism Co. team at its annual Stars of the Industry Awards in June. These accolades celebrate their exceptional contributions to the area’s thriving tourism and hospitality industry.
Visitor Services Coordinator Morgan Smith received the Destination Marketing Organization Employee of the Year Award for her exceptional service in connecting visitors with authentic Chattanooga experiences. Vice President of Visitor Experience Cassidy Brinkley received the Women in Hospitality & Tourism Award in recognition of her leadership in enhancing how guests engage with and enjoy the city.

The GCHA Stars of the Industry Awards celebrate individuals and organizations that demonstrate exceptional performance, innovation and leadership in the hospitality industry.
Smith, who has served Chattanooga Tourism Co. for more than 10 years, is known for her passion for local history; a deep knowledge of the city’s attractions, restaurants, and events; and her heartfelt recommendations that help visitors plan truly memorable experiences.
Brinkley was recently promoted to vice president of visitor experience and leads a department of eight team members. She has been instrumental in securing and executing national sporting events including the NCAA Division II Softball Championships, NJCAA Division III Tennis Championships, and the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons. Her leadership was evident during the Chattanooga Marathon's 10th anniversary celebration in March 2025. Brinkley also serves as secretary of the Play Tennessee Sports Board of Directors.
Both Morgan and Cassidy will advance to the Tennessee Hospitality and Tourism Association Stars of the Industry Awards, held in conjunction with the Tennessee Governor’s Conference on Hospitality and Tourism, in Kingsport, TN on September 17, 2025. It’s a proud moment to see our team members recognized alongside other outstanding professionals from across the state. Their achievements reflect the strength of Chattanooga’s travel hospitality industry.
