Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

Template category browser default

There's a new feature in TemplateWizard: when searching for templates, it's possible to browse by category. The browser starts at a default category of Category:Templates, but for Commons this should be Category:Commons templates. Would someone mind setting MediaWiki:Templatedata-category-rootcat to Commons templates? (Although conceivably it could also be Commons templates by task or something similar if that's thought to be a better starting point. Users can always change it, and whatever they change it to will be remembered for their device.) There's more info about this feature at mw:Help:TemplateData/Template_discovery#Template_categories. Well that's not great. Worth mentioning that all three of those images Grand Duc opposed have gone on to be overwhelmingly supported in consensual review at QIC. Hard to reconcile this judgment with the portion of the closure that Lvova quotes above. It's not like Grand Duc is particularly active at QIC. Category:WhistleBowler

I'm not sure how Commons deals with categories like Category:WhistleBowler, but it kind of seems like a vanity category for the user accounts that is going to add no value to the project as a whole; in fact, there's a good chance that the category's creator is going to end up being the only user that's ever added to it. I didn't see anything in COM:CAT or COM:CSD about categories for user accounts. Is OK or should it be discussed at COM:CFD? -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:33, 23 August 2025 (UTC)

Wiki Science Competition 2025 in India - Mass Message Request

I am part of the organizing team for the Wiki Science Competition 2025 in India, which is being held for the first time at a national level. Request for file replacement: File:Hidaka in Kochi Prefecture Ja.svg

Hello, I would like to request the replacement of the following file due to incorrect municipal classification in the map.

The current file contains outdated or incorrect color coding for certain municipalities in Kōchi Prefecture, Japan. A corrected version has been uploaded under the name: File:Hidaka in Kochi Prefecture Ja Update2025.svg.

This request was previously posted, but no action was taken for more than 10 days and the discussion was archived without resolution. Therefore, I am re-submitting this replacement request.
